Confidence Level
What is a confidence level in OKRs?
A simple forecast signal showing how likely a team believes it is to hit a Key Result based on current evidence.
A confidence level is a forward-looking signal attached to a Key Result or check-in. It helps teams separate current metric status from expected end-of-cycle performance. A metric may be technically on track today while confidence is dropping because the underlying trend is weakening.
Confidence is valuable because it surfaces risk early. It creates better conversations in weekly reviews by asking not only 'where are we now?' but also 'how likely are we to land this by the deadline?'

Useful Confidence Signal
Progress is at 42%, but confidence drops from High to Medium after paid acquisition costs spike.
Late Warning
The team reports only raw progress and waits until the final week to admit the goal is unrealistic.
